“Chelsea ruined the market this season!” – Adekunle Gold

Nigerian R&B singer Adekunle Gold, known for his stage name, has expressed disapproval of the exorbitant sums that Chelsea Football Club is spending on player transfers during the current transfer window. Chelsea has reportedly splashed out €323 million on transfers so far in the summer of 2023.
Their latest acquisition, Moises Caicedo, was secured from Brighton for a British-record transfer fee of €116 million (£100 million), with potential additional fees of up to €133 million (£115 million) based on achievable add-ons.
In response to this massive spending, Adekunle Gold, a dedicated fan of Premier League rivals Manchester United, voiced his concerns, suggesting that Chelsea’s extravagant expenditures are detrimental to the sport.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote; “Man! Chelsea ruined the market this season! Where una see money?”
