Davido revealed this exciting news via his official Twitter account on Tuesday, August 15, expressing his readiness for this significant event.

The artist behind the hit “Unavailable” tweeted: “Football enthusiasts, are you prepared? We are bringing some timeless vibes to the 50th PFA AWARDS in Manchester on the 29th of August! Let’s create an unforgettable evening.”

A statement on the awards’ official website emphasized that this year’s awards hold special significance as they commemorate the awards’ 50-year existence.

“The PFA Awards is always an exceptional occasion, acknowledging the outstanding performers across all divisions and voted for by the players. This year takes on added significance as we celebrate the Awards’ 50th anniversary.

“The 50th PFA Awards are scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th, at the Lowry Theatre. The Awards will showcase an innovative new format, with further details to be announced soon!

“During the event, we will unveil the winners of the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, PFA Young Player of the Year categories, and the Team of the Year for each division.

“In addition to the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year (awarded to those aged 21 or under at the start of the season), we will also honor footballing achievement through the PFA’s Merit Award,” the statement elaborates.

Previous recipients of the Player of the Year Award include Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suárez, Lucy Bronze, and Mohamed Salah.
