Organizers Nominate Rema, Davido in the Afrobeats category

The Organizers of the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) Unveil 2023 Nominees, With Nigerian Artists Making Their Mark
Leading the pack in nominations are American musicians Taylor Swift, with a staggering eight nods, and SZA, not far behind with six.
This year’s list includes 35 first-time nominees, featuring artists like GloRilla, Ice Spice, Flo Milli, among others.
Notably, the VMAs have introduced a new Afrobeat category for the first time in their history, with Nigerian artists dominating the nominations. The only non-Nigerian nominee in this Afro-centric category is Cameroonian-American singer Libianca.
